Blue Jays Trade McDonald for PTBNL

The Toronto Blue Jays have traded infielder John McDonald to the Detroit Tigers in exchange for a player to be named later.

McDonald , 30, batted .290 in 37 games for Toronto with three doubles, and 12 runs batted in. The 5'11", 175lb. Infielder started 27 games this season, 25 at shortstop and two at second base.

McDonald , a right-handed hitter, was acquired by the Blue Jays from the Cleveland Indians on December 2, 2004 in a trade for a player to be named later. The trade was completed on December 13, 2004 when Toronto sent RHP Thomas Mastny to the Indians.

McDonald , a native of New London, Connecticut, is a career .239 hitter in 322 games with four home runs and 45 RBI while playing for Toronto and Cleveland (1999-2004). Recommended Stories
