In 2005....Ramirez moved up a level and wound up with an 8-13 record at Double-A New Hampshire. The right-hander struck out (125) almost four times as many batters as he walked (32). In 27 starts, he allowed 19 home runs.

Ismael Jose Urbaez Ramirez... Was born on March 3, 1981 in El Tigrito, Anzoategui, Venezuala... Signed as non-drafted free agent by the Toronto Blue Jays on July 30, 1998... Was signed to his first professional contract on July 30, 1998... Ramirez was named the #17 prospect in the FSL in 2004... Was named to the 4th Toronto Blue Jays All-Prospect team... Was named as the Florida State League's Most Valuable Pitcher for the 2004 season... Ismael went 15-6 leading the league in wins this season... He had a 2.72 ERA, striking out 131 over a league best 165.1 innings.
