As many scouts will tell you, there's nothing particularly attractive in a 5'10', 190 pounds left-handed pitcher who throws a fastball that tops at 89 MPH. However, when that player possesses the motivation, makeup and change-up like Aaron J. Wideman, you are bound to take notice.

The Mississauga, Ontario native experienced a career year in 2007 (3.63 ERA, 156 1/3 IP, 161 H, 63 ER, 19 HR, 34 BB, 101 K, 1.15 Go/Ao and a 1.20 WIP), starting the year in Lansing (Low-A) and promoted four starts later to Dunedin (High-A) where he anchored the pitching staff and led the team to a playoff appearance in the Florida State League.
