Jays Quiet on International Signing Day
Balbino Fuenmayor

Posted Jul 4, 2007

July 2 was International Signing day for Major League Baseball and the Blue Jays failed to sign any significant players.

When the clock struck midnight on July 2, several major league organizations made the push to sign the new crop of players from the Dominican Republic and Venezuela. The Blue Jays didn't make any notable signings on the first day, but this does not mean they won't. Last year they signed Balbino Fuenmayor one month after the signing day.

The Yankees made the biggest splash signing nine players. They included right-hander Maicon Alves, catcher Josue Rodriguez, outfielder Eduardo Sosa, catcher Jorge Liccien, outfielders Edwin Beard and Henry Pena, third baseman Elio De La Rosa, right-hander Arodys Vizcaino and otufielder Kelvin De Leon.

InsideTheDome will continue to bring you the latest updates on all International signings made this signing period.
