Mills, Collins Agree to Deal with Jays
Bradley Mills

Posted Jun 15, 2007

InsideTheDome has learned that the Blue Jays have signed two more draft selections from last week.

The highest pick to sign to date was Arizona RHP Brad Mills. The senior, who was drafted last year by Toronto but never signed, met with the Jays Scouting Director before the draft this year.

"I met face to face with Jon Lalonde before the draft this year. It was important for me to get my education. I turned down the offer mostly because of academics, but I also developed as a baseball player."

The other player to sign was catcher Joel Collins, a native of Toronto.

"It's an incredible feeling. Being a Toronto kid I couldn't have written a better script for it. I feel real fortunate to be able to play for a team I've watched growing up and to be part of a great organization like Toronto.
