Overbey Promoted to New Hampshire
Seth Overbey

Posted Jun 14, 2007

It took Seth Overbey just nine appearances to prove to Toronto's developmental staff that he's ready for another challenge.

Seth Overbey tossed 24 2/3 scoreless innings over 16 appearances with Low-A Lansing to begin the season. In late May he received his reward by being promoted to Single-A Dunedin. While pitching in the Florida State League he allowed just one run over ten innings, in his nine appearances.

That small sample was enough for Toronto to promote the side-arming right-hander to Double-A New Hampshire, and Overbey is expected to face his biggest test to date in the Eastern League.

Overall this year the 23-year-old is 1-1 with a 0.26 ERA in 34 2/3 innings.
