De Jong Promoted to Big Leagues

The Toronto Blue Jays today purchased the contract of right-handed pitcher Jordan De Jong.

De Jong was pitching for Triple-A Syracuse . He began the season posting an ERA of 0.64 with Double-A New Hampshire, and was then given a well deserved promotion to Triple-A. After 23 1/3 innings with the Chiefs, De Jong is 2-0 with a 2.31 ERA.

In other moves Ismael Ramirez was designated for assignment to make room for De Jong on the roster, while Brian Wolfe was optioned down to Triple-A Syracuse.
