Five Named to Midwest League All-Star Game

Five members of the Lansing Lugnuts were selected today to participate in the 2007 Midwest League All-Star Game which will take place on Tuesday June 19 at Kane County .

Travis Snider is sixth in the Midwest League with a .328 batting average. He has three home runs and thirty-six runs batted in this season in forty-five games with Lansing .

Matt Liuzza will be one of the three catchers for the East Squad. The second year player is batting .236 with five home runs and fifteen runs batted in.

Infielder Sean Shoffit, who ranks among the Midwest League leaders with five triples, was also selected. Shoffit is batting .280 with two home runs and eighteen runs batted in. He’s second on the club with 30 runs scored.

Adrian Martin, who has started three games for Lansing , and appeared in ten more as a reliever, was one of two pitchers selected from Lansing . The right-hander is 2-1 with a 1.15 ERA in 31 1/3 innings.

Closer Paul Phillips was also selected. He's tied for the team leads in saves with seven, and is currently 1-0 with a 2.59 ERA in twenty appearances.
