After 24 2/3 scoreless innings this season with the Lansing Lugnuts, the Toronto Blue Jays development staff rewarded side-arming right-hander Seth Overbey with a promotion to the Florida State League.
The 23-year-old was 1-0 with 7 saves in 16 appearances out of the Lugnuts bullpen and had a 0.00 ERA. Overbey allowed just 12 hits on the year and held opponents to a .146 batting average against mark.
"It's good to know that what I'm doing it getting recognized," Overbey told InsideTheDome.
"Obviously if you look at his numbers, he's done outstanding," said Lugnuts manager Gary Cathcart. "He has that wicked sinker and those guys have a hard time getting on top of it. He's had maybe one bad inning this year."
