Blue Jays Sign Jo Matumoto

The Toronto Blue Jays signed southpaw Jo Matumoto to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league camp. Matumoto arrived in camp with the Blue Jays today.

The left-handed pitcher recently turned 36, is widely recognized as the "Ace" of the Brazilian National Team and has led the country in international competition.

The 5'10, 170lb. left hander was recognized as the MVP of the 2005 South American Games. The native of Sao Paolo, Brazil also played professionally in Japan.
