The Jays drafted Joey Metropoulos in the ninth round of the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft out of USC. The young first baseman with potential to flourish into a legitimate power corner infielder in the major leagues, was plagued by injuries early in his professional baseball career. His potential alone enables him to remain one of the top fifty prospects for the third consecutive season.
