Jays' Release Matthew Foster

Jays' Release Matthew Foster

InsideTheDome has learned that the Toronto Blue Jays released pitcher Matthew Foster this past week.

Foster, who turned twenty-five years old in September, was drafted in the 13th round of the 2003 draft but did not pitch the entire 2004 season since he had to serve his military requirements after attending Navy.

He was reinstated from the Military List in June of 2005 but made just two appearances for Pulaski. This past season he appeared in 13 games with Pulaski.

The southpaw spent three seasons in the minor leagues, but never pitched above rookie ball. He went 1-0 with a 2.78 ERA in 22 2/3 career innings.
