Winter Ball: Patterson Has Multi-Hit Game

After given an off day from the starting lineup on Thursday, Ryan Patterson was back in the lineup on Friday and connected for two hits. Meanwhile, the Arizona Fall League saw Ryan Klosterman and Curtis Thigpen in action.

Patterson got his first at bat in the top of the second and lined a single to center field on the first pitch he saw from pitcher David Asher. The single by Patterson started a major inning for Honolulu as they scored seven times. Patterson also had his second at bat of the game in the same inning, and off the same pitcher. With the bases empty he drew a walk after having the count 0-2 against him.

Patterson struck out in the fourth inning on a 2-2 pitch by reliever Kazuya Tsutsui. In the seventh inning, off Alexander Hinshaw, Patterson got another single to left field, and reached on an error in the ninth inning off pitcher Adam Carr.

Patterson raised his average to .273 with his multi-hit performance.

Meanwhile, in the Arizona Fall League Curtis Thigpen went 1-for-5 with a run scored, while Ryan Klosterman, who was playing second base, went 1-for-5 but struck out three times.
