Litsch Promoted to New Hampshire

Right-hander Jesse Litsch was added to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats roster today. Litsch joins New Hampshire from High-A Dunedin. He takes the place of reliever Paul Phillips, who was sent from the Fisher Cats to Dunedin.

The 21-year-old Litsch was 6-6 with a 3.25 ERA in 15 starts with the Dunedin Blue Jays this season.

He had 80 strikeouts and just eight walks in 88.2 innings pitched.

Litsch was originally selected in the 24th round of the 2004 draft out of South Florida Community College. Last year was his first pro season and he went a combined 5-2 with a 2.85 ERA in 15 games, 14 starts, with Rookie League Pulaski and Short-Season Auburn.

The 22-year-old Phillips made only three relief appearances with the Fisher Cats since joining the team on June 19.

He posted a 7.71 ERA in those three games, allowing two earned runs in 2.1 innings pitched.

He was originally selected by the Blue Jays in the ninth round of the 2005 draft out of Oakland University. Recommended Stories
