The Toronto Blue Jays inked 25 players that they selected on Tuesday and Wednesday to professional contracts. It's expected that Toronto will agree to terms with at least 8-10 more players by the end if this month. The club also agreed to deals with four undrafted players.
The following players signed professional contracts with Toronto on Friday. They will all report to the Jays mini-camp which begins 7:00 am Saturday morning. The week long camp will determine the rosters for the short-season clubs
5th Round: Luke Hopkins
7th Round: Jonathan Baksh
8th Round: Dan O'Brien
11th Round: Matt Lane
13th Round: Mikal Garbarino
14th Round: Shawn Scobee
15th Round: Seth Overbey
18th Round: Kyle Walter
19th Round: Matt Liuzza
21st Round: Ronald Lowe
23rd Round: Adam Calderone
25th Round: Luis Fernandez
26th Round: Chris Emanuele
29th Round: Ryan Basham
31st Round: Adam Rogers
32nd Round: Noah Tritz
33rd Round: Greg Lopez
35th Round: John Zinnicker
37th Round: Ben Zeskind
40th Round: Ted Serro
41st Round: Roger Ebarb
43rd Round: Nate Melek
44th Round: Kelly Sweppenhiser
50th Round: Baron Frost
First round pick Travis Snider will not sign before June 17. He does expect to sign a few days after that date.
The following players were signed as undrafted free agents:
LHP DREW TAYLOR- University of Michigan
LHP BRIAN BULL- University of Minnesota
LHP ALAN STIDFOLE- Penn State University
LHP NATHAN STARNER- Shippensburg University.
Taylor, a native of Toronto, is the son of long-time Blue Jays team doctor, Dr. Ron Taylor. Stidfole is the twin brother of Sean Stidfole, a right-handed reliever selected by Toronto in the 14th round of last year's draft, now playing with the Lansing Lugnuts, the Blue Jays affiliate in the Midwest League (A).
