Towers was in midseason form Thursday

In today's spring training notes we focus in on Josh Towers' outstanding outing on Thursday. In other news Jason Phillips continues to swing a hot bat, Justin Speier was back on the mound, Reed Johnson took a step toward getting back on the field, and more players were reassigned to minor league camp.

--RHP Josh Towers was in midseason form in his three-inning stint Thursday against Detroit, needing just 35 pitches to record the nine outs.
