Camp Report: Lydon Brings Speed to Jays

Lydon in Mets Camp Last Spring

When the Blue Jays signed Wayne Lydon to a minor league deal this off-season, it immediately made Lydon the fastest player in the organization. Lydon is now in camp as a non-roster invitee, and is hoping to break through with the Blue Jays, something he failed to do in the New York Mets organization. Talent evaluators love his speed, and some believe Lydon could emerge as a sleeper this spring.

The competition for Lydon after the Mets didn't tender him a contract was there. Plenty of teams had interest in the speedy outfielder. Lydon and his agent, Daryl Buford, were very pleased with the interest they got from several teams around the league.
