Purcey Disappointed About 2005 Season

David Purcey began the year pitching with the Dunedin Blue Jays. He finished the year with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats posting a 2.93 ERA and holding opponents to a .205 batting average against mark. In 137.1 innings this past season, opponents batted just .221 off Purcey while recording 161 strikeouts. However, when you speak to the 16th overall selection in the 2004 draft, he will tell you his 2005 season was a disappointment.

"Results wise – I wasn't extremely happy with my season," Purcey told InsideTheDome Thursday afternoon. "I'd say I was average at best. This past season was mostly a learning year for me.
