InsideTheDome is proud to introduce a new feature for the fans of the Blue Jays. Throughout this off-season we will try to schedule online chats with the players from the Blue Jays minor league organization.

In our first chat session of the season, one of the surprise players from the 2005 season will be joining us. This infielder has been flying under the radar for most of his baseball life. After concluding high school, there were not a whole lot of options available to this player to continue playing baseball. He then went to a Stanford baseball camp and a Division III coach was present, and in the end that coach was really the only one to recruit him. This player had a successful career at Trinity University and was named the 2004 SCAC Player of the Year. The precedent for him was not good. No player from Trinity University had ever been drafted by a professional baseball club. This player once again had his back to his wall, but things worked out well when he heard his name in the 25th Round of the 2004 Draft.

The player we are talking about is Jason Armstrong. Playing in 118 games this past season, Armstrong hit .289 with sixty-three runs scored, twenty doubles and fifty-two runs batted in. Armstrong began the season as a bench player for Lansing, and once again had to fight his way into attention. Playing in just thirteen games over the month of April, Armstrong hit .371 (13-35) and forced his way into the starting lineup as May began.

On Thursday November 17 you will be able to talk with Jason about his career, his 2005 season, and any baseball questions in general, as Jason will be joining InsideTheDome for a live chat at 7:15 P.M. Eastern Time. In order to accommodate Jason as best possible, please try to be logged on the message board ten minutes prior to the start of the draft. The chat will last for thirty minutes so please try to be on time.

If you will not be able to join the chat but would like to ask Jason a question, you may email me at BVangelatos@aol.com with the question, your user name on the message board, and your question will be asked during the chat session.

Note: The chat will take place in this thread. Details will be posted Thursday.

Thank you and see you on Thursday!

Our next chat session and player guest will be announced at the conclussion of Jason's chat session on Thursday.
