New Hampshire Fisher Cats: Pitcher of the Year

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats had a disappointing season in 2005 as they finished with a 68-74 record and failed to make the playoffs a year after winning the Eastern League Championship. From a pitching standpoint the team featured lots of solid arms and some big prospects. There were several finalists for the Pitcher of the Year award, however, in the end it went to a pitcher that truly had a remarkable performance.

Four relievers were strongly considered for the award as well as three starters. Steve Andrade went 3-2 on the season with a 1.97 ERA. He logged 50.1 innings in 35 appearances out of the bullpen and allowed just twenty-three hits, while recording seventy-six strikeouts.
