The 23-year-old Quiroz has split the 2005 season between the Dunedin Blue Jays, where he spent time in a rehab and the Syracuse SkyChiefs. Quiroz began the season on the disabled list with a right shoulder strain and subsequently was
sidelined with a collapsed lung. In 11 games with Dunedin he batted .237 with two home runs and six RBI. With the SkyChiefs the right-hander hit .215 in 24 games with six home runs.
and nineteen RBI.
Quiroz made his major league debut in 2004, appearing in 17 games with the Blue Jays and hitting .212 with six runs batted in.
Quiroz will be sent to the Arizona Fall League in October.
