Lansing manager Ken Joyce is wondering what he has to do to inspire his team for the stretch run for the second half. Last week, he tried a fiery speech in which he challenged his team. That approach worked for the next two games before Lansing fell back into their second half long funk. On Friday, Joyce was tossed from the game in the eight inning arguing a close play at second base.

The tactic failed however as Lansing fell to the Beloit Snappers by a score of 5-2 in an uninspired effort in front of 9,791 fans at Oldsmobile Park on Friday night. Beloit would open the scoring in the top of the second inning with a one out home run to right field by Chris Brown.
