Hill Called Up With Koskie Hurt

Koskie is out 6-8 weeks

The Toronto Blue Jays purchased the contract of infielder Aaron Hill from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday to replace the injured Corey Koskie.

Koskie was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured right thumb and could be out six to eight weeks. He suffered the injury while sliding into second base in a game against the Minnesota Twins. The twenty-three year old Hill was batting .301 in thirty-eight games with the SkyChiefs. In 156 at bats he had five homers and eighteen RBI.

Koskie was batting .248 this season with seven homers and sixteen RBI in thirty-eight games.

Since Hill was not on the 40-man roster Eric Crozier was designated for assignment to clear a roster spot.
