MLN: Rain, Rain Go Away

In today's edition of the Minor League Notebook we see that the weather came out on top as it washed out two of the three scheduled games for the Jays minor league clubs. In the only game that was played, the team wishes it was not.

Rain Rain Go Away

Wednesday's game between the Syracuse SkyChiefs and Buffalo Bisons has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Tuesday, June 7. The two teams will meet again on Thursday as Ryan Glynn (1-1 7.82) opposes Dave Gassner (1-0 1.50).

I said...Rain Rain Go AWAY!

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats and Harrisburg Senators had their game postponed Wednesday due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Monday, August 8, 2005 beginning at 5:35 PM. The Fisher Cats has their first scheduled off-day of the season on Thursday, and then begin a three game series with the New Britain Rock Cats.

Maybe It Should Have Rained in Florida

The Dunedin Blue Jays allowed two runs in three of the first four innings and three more runs in the sixth inning as they suffered a 10-1 loss to the hands of the Fort Myers Miracle Wednesday night. Kurt Isenberg started the game and picked up his first loss of the season. The left-hander allowed six runs, five earned on seven hits in just 3 2/3 innings of work. Isenberg walked three, struck out one, and allowed two homers. It was the second time Isenberg faced Fort Myers this season. On April 15, he picked up his first victory of the year as he allowed just one hit in six innings of work while striking out seven batters. His last start was also a positive one, as Isenberg allowed one run on five hits in five innings of work against Tampa. Danny Core relieved Isenberg and allowed three runs on three hits in 2 1/3 innings of work. Jeremy Harper pitched the seventh and eighth innings and allowed two hits with one run coming across. The Blue Jays managed just six hits on the evening. Jayce Tingler has two singles on the night in his three at bats. Game two of the three game series will be played Thursday night in Dunedin. Davis Romero starts for the D'Jays. Game time is 7 pm. Dunedin is now in third place in the West division of the Florida State League with a 12-7 record, one game behind Lakeland.
