In today's edition of the Jays Minor League Notebook we see the Jays were defeated...by the weather. Two games got postponded because of rain, and one game was PPD because of cold weather. In the only game that was played, the Syracuse SkyChiefs and Scott Downs did not fair well.
SkyChiefs Drops Third Straight
It appears more and more that Scott Downs will not last the entire season with the Toronto organization. Downs lost for the third time in four starts Saturday afternoon and allowed six runs on eight hits in four inning of work. Downs walked two batters and struck out five as his ERA rose to 8.84.
Spike Lundberg pitched the fifth and sixth innings allowing just two hits and no runs while striking out two. Adrian Burnside pitched the seventh inning and allowed two runs on two hits with Jason Arnold pitching a perfect eighth inning. Syracuse managed just five hits on the afternoon.
The SkyChiefs dropped to 8-8 on the season and are in fourth place in the North Division of the International League.

Fisher Cats Rained Out
Saturday’s game between the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and the Binghamton Mets was postponed due to rain. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday with the first game beginning at 12:05 P.M. local time. Josh Banks will face off against Yusmeiro Petit. The second game will begin 30 minutes following the conclusion of Game 1, with Vince Perkins opposing Ken Chenard.
Cold Weather Postpones Lugnuts
Saturday’s game between the Cedar Rapids Kernels and Lansing Lugnuts was postponed due to cold and wintry weather in the mid-Michigan area. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader at 1:05 P.M., local time, and will feature a pair of seven inning contests.
Dunedin Postponed Due to Rain
Guess what?...The Dunedin Blue Jays and the Tampa Yankees game Saturday evening was postponed before first pitch due to rain in the area.
