The Syracuse SkyChiefs picked up their first win of the 2005 season in a dramatic fashion Friday afternoon. With the game in the 13th inning and tied at four, Anton French stepped up to the plate with two outs and two runners on. Facing an 0-2 count French lifted a high fly ball over the outfield fences for the three-run shot and the victory.
Syracuse made an earlier comeback in the bottom of the ninth, trailing 4-2. With one out, Eric Crozier walked and Justin Singleton smoked a double to right field. With runners on second and third, Andy Dominique walked, and French then reached on a fielders choice to score Crozier and cut the deficit to one. Aaron Hill came to the plate next, and behind in the count 0-2, he lined a single into centerfield to score Singleton and tie the game.
SkyChiefs closer Matt Whiteside held Rochester scoreless in the ninth and tenth innings, and reliever Spike Lundberg followed with three scoreless innings of his own for the victory.
John Ford-Griffin had a homer in the fourth innings of the game and Bryant Nelson also contributed with a run batted in. Anton French finished the game with four RBI.

The Fisher Cats could not hold a 4-2 lead late in the game, and allowed three runs in the eight inning to lose the game 5-4.
Kevin Barker was the lone offensive hero for the Fisher Cats going 3-5 with two doubles and three runs batted in. Starter Josh Banks pitched well in his five innings of work allowing six hits, two runs, while not walking a batter. Ryan Houston came in for the sixth and seventh innings and pitched perfect ball striking out four, however, Jordan De Jong could not hold the lead allowing two hits, a walk and three runs.
Miguel Negron had two hits with a run scored and a double, while Maikel Jova singled in a run in the loss. Ron Davenport, Erik Kratz and Brad Hassey each doubled in the game, and Rob Cosby joined the hit parade with a single.
Player of the Game: Kevin Barker 3-5, R, 2(2B), 3RBI
The Dunedin Blue Jays improved to 2-0 with a 9-2 victory over the Threshers Friday evening. Zach Jackson (1-0) picked up the win for the Jays allowing four hits and one run in the evening. The Blue Jays accumulated sixteen hits in the evening, thirteen of them singles. Ryan Roberts led the onslaught with a double and two singles. He also drove in a run and scored a run. Clint Johnston had three singles of his own and scored two runs, while Robinson Diaz had two singles, an RBI and scored two runs. Third baseman Eric Arnold had two doubles, a single and drove in five runs in the victory. Jayce Tingler, Adam Lind, David Smith, John Schneider and Scott Dragicevich each had a single in the victory.

Lansing scored three runs in the third inning and that was all the offense they needed as they went on to a 5-2 victory Friday evening. Curtis Thigpen two run homer in the third innings was the major blow of the game, and Juan Peralta also contributed with two RBI of his own. A.J. Wideman got the start for Lansing and allowed three hits, and struck out five batters. Po-Hsuan Keng picked up his first professional victory tossing three innings and allowing a run on three hits. Also contributing in the offense were David Hicks, Eric Nielsen, Chris Snavely and Ryan Klosterman who had a single each.
